Spring is the perfect time to get back into shape before summer, but with social-distancing measures, gyms and fitness classes are out of the picture for now. I had finally been getting into a good workout routine and had been going to the gym regularly, but now I’ve had to get a little bit more creative with my workouts. I truly believe that working out is extra important in law school because not only does it help keep me sane, but without prioritizing working out it is very easy to neglect your physical health in law school. I’ve listed some of the at-home workouts below that I have been loving lately, and will continue doing until I can get back to the gym!
- Running & Walking – This is one of the easiest/ most obvious ways to work out right now. Get outside! I am trying to get into a better running routine before I start marathon training, and I notice that getting outside for a quick run can significantly improve my mood.
- Kayla Itsines BBG – I love BBG workouts and although I have never done the entire 12-week program, I have implemented BBG workouts into my fitness routine occasionally for years. With at-home workouts, it is easy for me to get bored so, the shorter the better. These are high-intensity resistance workouts and only take 28 minutes. You can find these on the Sweat App, and if you are a new user you can get a 7-day free trial.
- MadFit – I don’t have a ton of workout equipment at home, so I love workouts that are completely equipment free. I love Maddie’s workouts, and I love that they are so short but still make me feel like I got a good workout in.
- Sanne Vloet – Sanne is a Victoria’s Secret model and I am so obsessed with her Youtube channel. She posts all sorts of videos, but lately has been posting workout videos and they’re great!
- Whitney Simmons – Whitney is a very well known fitness influencer, and normally I like her videos for gym workouts. But she has several videos on her channel that are at-home workouts and do not require any equipment.
- Yoga With Adriene – I don’t know about all of you, but I know that all of the uncertainty lately has caused a lot of anxiety for me, and for people I know. I’m not normally super into yoga, but I have found it very helpful lately to follow along with a yoga video before bed.
I hope you guys find these workouts helpful! If there’s any at-home workouts that you’ve been liking that I didn’t list, let me know in the comments below.
